If you prefer not to be entirely dependent on your propulsion engine or a shore connection for onboard power, Mastervolt has an extensive range of AC diesel generators for you to choose from. All are ultra-quiet, compact, easy to install and unfailingly reliable. You can use a washing machine/dryer, an air-conditioning system and any other appliances that make life easier, including a (safer) electric cooker. At the same time, the generator recharges your batteries quickly and fully, enabling you to switch back to silent inverter power for the rest of the day.
Mastervolt generators use indirect-injected four stroke diesel engines manufactured by Mitsubishi and Kubota. Exceptionally quiet, compact and smooth running, these high-tech engines conform to the strictest emission level requirements. All engines are heat exchanger cooled with combustion air also cooled to ensure optimal performance under extreme conditions. The alternator is water cooled by an integrated cooler made of seawater corrosion proof cupra-nickle.
With a world first, Mastervolt have combined a variable speed diesel generator with inverter technology and has created the first true hybrid electrical power system.
The Mastervolt GPX-5 marine power system houses a generator, an inverter, a battery charger and a generator/inverter/shore transfer system. Against a ‘classic’ setup the GPX-5 reduces volume by 40% and weight even by 50%, providing you a pure sine wave 230V output with an absolute stable 50Hz on-board AC power. The GPX-5 also offers you a high voltage DC connection which can be used for the ultra efficient use of wind, solar energy or electric propulsion. To effectively feed all equipment on-board you can even combine power from shore with power from the generator and batteries. The GPX-5 is due to be released in the first quarter of 2011.
